Yoga Sutras - a 5 week exploration of Yoga's Ancient Philosophy

  • Spectra Yoga Costa Mesa, CA USA (map)

The Yoga Sutras are the foundation of yoga philosophy according to the path of Raja (Royal or Classical) Yoga. Widely regarded as the authoritative text on yoga, they are a collection of aphorisms (general truths), outlining the eight limbs or practices of yoga. These 196 sutras or "threads" (as sutra translates from Sanskrit) of wisdom offer guidelines for living a meaningful and purposeful life.

Join me for a 5 week journey though the Yoga Sutras, and see how these ancient practices can be effectively translated and used for modern day living.

We'll explore: The Yamas, Niyamas, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana and Samadhi
